There is a heart on the line and it's mine

I blew a wish, like a kiss into the wind
I deserved a distraction, a new name with a new face to picture upon waking
I played patiently, not knowing who you were but that you would find me

Our friends know best, match maker, match maker...
We shook hands,I forgot your name
But not the flicker of light in the upward turned corner of your smile
I saw it there, I watched it all night
a picture show, playing stills of memories we might just make
I had to wonder if your stagger might match my sway
Maybe if we lean just this way?

Now there's a heart on the line and it's mine
My intention was not to fall for you
But here I am, my feet have been in this same spot on the Earth before
Stronger now than I have ever been before
yet still utterly terrified of the thought of Love
I stand here stripped naked and bare, a woman in front of a man
Your open, out stretched hands revealed two hearts, rose quartz
I'd lost that precious years ago, but the blessing came back in twos
Does my heart match yours?

Its in his kiss, like the old song says, it surely is
But its in your hands when they touch me
its in your hips when they dance with me like I've known no man to dance
Then you knocked me flat on my ass, pulled the rug right out from under my feet
"I love you"
The words responded out of my lips from my thrumming soul
"I absolutely love you too"
What kind of lucid dream is this?
Are we real, solid? Or are we reflections of the sun's light?
If this be but a dream, I dare not to wake.

“We say we love flowers, yet we pluck them. We say we love trees, yet we
cut them down. And people still wonder why some are afraid when told
they are loved.”--Unknown
