If you could see me now...

If you could see me now
you'd be so proud of me
Making home of rented house
I'm paying my bills, on time
I've made friends in a place
where I started out a stranger

I don't think about you, often as I used to.
I'm even falling in love
I'll never love anyone,
like I loved you
But I'm hopeful I'll love him,
more than I loved you.

Many things can't be replaced
except for the image of me that rolls in your head
I'm changing and proving you wrong
I can do all this on my own
without you.

Montana isn't so bad
I love it and hate it
sometimes both in the same day
When I miss home, I miss you
I am learning here
when I've mastered all these lessons
maybe I'll come home

Til then, just know
how proud you would be of me
if only you could see me now.
